Product Identification
Product Identification: There are several alternate ways to identify the presence of
Beazer Phenolic Foam Roofing Insulation in your roofing system.
- You may contact the U.S. District Court Appointed Notice Administrator toll-free at 1-877-428-7374 and ask whether the manufacturer or a contractor has provided the address of your building as having Beazer PFRI.
- You may ask a roofing contractor to take a small test core of your insulation. The cost associated with such a core test should be less than $100. Many contractors will perform that core test at no charge as part of routine maintenance.
- You may identify Beazer PFRI by the production date code stamped on each board of insulation: OCP1, OCP2, OCP3, followed by a numeric date. For example, January 17, 1989 (stated as OCP011789)
- You may check any of your roofing warranty or installation records, although Beazer PFRI was substituted frequently.
- You may visually look at your metal roof deck from the inside of the building (above any ceiling tile) to determine if there is corrosion or rusting of your metal deck. (Please note however that severe corrosion may only be accurately determined from the top side of the metal deck).
- You may walk on top of your roofing system. Beazer PFRI decomposes and is commonly identified by the following:
A. Softness or depressions in the roof;
B. A cracking, popping, or "egg shell" sound; or
C.Shrinkage at the joints of the boards.
- You may send a small sample of your roof insulation to the Court Appointed Notice Administrator at the following address:
